Salt Mine in Wieliczka is the oldest (founded in the 13 C), continuously running salt mine in the world, and is the greatest tourist attraction in Poland. In underground mine chambers you can see how mining techniques have evolved over the centuries while also admiring beautiful interiors and sculptures made of salt. In 1978 the salt mine was entered on the first ever UNESCO World Heritage List along with 11 other sites from around the world.

Totally an amazing experience. Well worth a visit. Amazed how those miners worked down in those conditions and in their spare time created some spectacular sculptures.
Be prepared to walk down approximately 400 steps and walk about 3km.
Believe you me your legs feel like jelly
Our guide was good and knowledgeable.
There’s a place to shop at the end of your tour and a cafe if you have timo.
Only downside to our tour not enough time to browse.
