This trip on Friday 9.6.2023 was a memorable but very rushed experience and near to be a completely catastrophe! Even though all places were nice to see and visit... First of all, the whole day guide needs to be much clearer on what we can do in terms of timing, so we can manage our expectation of timing better with food and toilets etc (First tip to City Wonders: a simple A4-paper printed with a timetable and guide's phonenumber on it would be great). Firstly the guide with his broken english gave us two meeting points to come together again after spending one free hour vandering in Positano village, and we did get in time at the first meeting spot nearer the Village where we told face to face to him 'Hi, no 7 family is here' (he gave us that family/groupnumber) but then just seconds after he just vanished in front of us in the crowd. We tried to see where he went to follow him, and I soon decided to move uphill to the minibusses to the second meeting spot. But the problem was that 3/4 of us remembered that spot a little bit wrong because to get OUR minibusses (there were many) we needed to go more uphill, which I thankfully decided soon to do because we didn't see any familiar face around (there were many many people also). (Second tip to City Wonders: something should be set on every participant of the trip to recognise each other.) So, we got there to the second meeting spot almost by hunch 5-7 minutes in late, and the guide told us they were just about to leave without us!!! So unbelievable that he really was ready to leave our group of four (age 10, 14, 40 and 67 yrs) down the hills in Positano village. And this guide (M***o), had just seen us minutes before at that first meeting spot where he had just vanished WITHOUT GUIDING us back to the minibusses. He himself must have rushed to uphill very fast because on the way up we didn't even see him or his flag. And he didn't even try to call us or look for us even though he knew we must be there somewhere very near. After that shi**y experience the day was almost completely ruined for us. Thankfully the guide in Pompeii saved that afternoon, he was easy to follow with his umbrella, listen to and speak with, very professionally knowning and absolutely humorous man indeed. Only disappointing thing with Pompeii was that it was saved to be the last part of this trip and the time spent there was only about over an hour. It was disappointing because Pompeii was the main reason for us to take this trip after all. Summarizing: The whole day guidance was confusing, it should be much better. Otherwise a memorable experience in a good way.
