Once a thriving empire 1,900 years ago, it was devastated by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD when 30 feet of volcanic ash and pumice stone covered the city. We'll meet you private licensed guide at the entrance of ruins. As you enter a short walk takes you to the city's hub, the Forum. There are many souvenir shops and local specialties including articles of highly polished wood inlaid with beautiful marquetry. You'll see first-hand why its delightful climate make the village a favorite Mediterranean resort. You will proceed along the Amalfi Coast to Positano, where a picture postcard comes to life - a patchwork of flat and domed roofs and vine-covered stairways tumbling down to meet the gentle curve of beach, which is dotted with brightly colored fishing boats. Enjoy time at leisure to explore this elegant spot with its designer boutiques, shops, and seaside cafés. After Positano, return back to the Hotel.

We actually used Gianluca and his team for multiple things during our trip to Amalfi last week: a tour of Pompeii/Vesuvius, transfers from Napoli to Sorrento and again from Sorrento to Positano and finally a private tour of the Amalfi Coast taking us to Amalfi, Ravello, Scalia, Fuorore etc. We had three drivers-Aldo, Davide and Lelo - across those few days and all three were incredibly hospitable, knowledgeable about the region and kind. And Our Pompeii guide-Francisco- was top notch as well. Leading up to the trip, Gianluca’s customer service was above and beyond….so much so we cancelled another tour we had booked and swapped it to be with him bc we could already tell he treated every customer with care and importance. I will 100% use Gianluca’s services again next time I’m in the region and will recommend him to anyone who asks for tips in the future. 5 stars plus!

Our driver, Aldo, was punctual, very helpful and knowledgeable, and flexible as we adjusted our itinerary on the fly! When we got to Pompeii we were introduced to Daniela, our tour guide, who was such a wonderful person with vast knowledge of the ancient town, the history and culture, the catastrophic Vesuvius event and had anecdotes and humour in abundance. Daniela even helped us avail of the under-18s free entry for our kids (we had forgotten about this and hadn't brought any IDs with us), by pleading with the ticket office on our behalf. It was a day we'll never forget!!

Lelo was our private driver during our entire stay in Sorrento. He drove to and from the airport, as well as taking us on a day tour of the Amalfi coast. He was always on time, friendly, and knowledgeable . I highly recommend this company for your transportation needs as well as any private tours you want to take while visiting the Amalfi Coast!
