    On a fateful summer's day in 79 A.D., Mt. Vesuvius erupted, spewing volcanic ash over the prosperous city of Pompeii. Unaware of the imminent danger, most people continued on with their daily lives and as a result the entire town and around 20,000 of its inhabitants were buried under tons of ash and pumice. Almost 2,000 years later, you have the opportunity to explore the site of this famous disaster and see first-hand the houses, streets and public buildings miraculously preserved by the volcanic ash. Accompanied by your guide, you'll see such fascinating places such as the Forum, Thermal Baths and Lupanare brothel.

Our guide, Elize (sp?) was fantastic. She told so many stories of the times in addition to pointing out the sites. I learned where many phrases (i.e., "getting the short end of the stick" originated - in Pompeii; and how they came to be). She knew so much and was so enthusiastic. One of the best guides ever. Highly recommend her - she is in one of the attached photos.

Tudo correu muito bem, desde o transfer do hotel até Pompeia e o processo de entrada no local, guia excelente, contou muito da história e bom humor! Não é possível conhecer todo o sítio arqueológico de Pompeia no passeio, mas conseguimos imaginar como era o cotidiano da população e a arquitetura da cidade. com certeza, motiva a voltar outras vezes para conhecer o restante!
