Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius are the undisputed protagonists of the 79 AD eruption. Get to know more about it with this incredible full day experience. You will visit Pompeii in a small group tour led by an Archaeologist guide who will show you the best highlights of the site like the Forum – the main square of the city –, the main houses and buildings. Then meet the hiking guide in the afternoon and leave with our minibus for up to 14 people with direction to Mount Vesuvius. As arrive at Vesuvius entrance first 30 minutes up to the crater there's a steep walking to reach the top. Hike the volcano and reach the top of it: look inside the still quiescent crater and wonder at the amazing landscape around you and the beautiful panorama overlooking the Bay of Naples. At the end of the excursion be brought back to Pompeii where the tour began.

A most informative and entertaining tour of the ruins of Pompeii in 32 degree heat. Even though I had a toothache and was in some discomfort, the guide kept me fascinated and enthralled with his stories of ancient Pompeii. Thoroughly knowledgeable of his subject, delivered in an engaging manner, he was funny and thoughtful, engaging the children on the tour by making history come alive for them. The highlight of our holiday!

It was okay, but we were disappointed, it’s way too expensive for the quality the tour offered. In Pompeii, our tour guide Laura (we think) was talking into the microphone that had a super bad audio quality while we were walking, which is why we couldn’t understand what she was saying, her pronunciation wasn’t too good either and there were a lot of people around us. She didn’t wait for other people to catch up with the group so it was very rushed. The second part was okay too, Mario was super nice but it was just an accompanied hike in the end and he gave us information that you could’ve found on the Internet too- not worth 114€. The driver was driving crazy and was on his phone the entire time while he was driving. We do not recommend for this price unfortunately.

We very happy with the Pompeii and Vesuvius tour. We visited Vesuvius first and our guide Mario was excellent. He went at a comfortable pace for our 10-person group while stopping every so often to offer interesting insight into the volcano. We spent about two hours on the trails of Vesuvius. After arriving back in Pompeii we had an hour break for lunch then we spent a little over two hours touring the ruins with another fabulous guide. He was so knowledgeable of the ruins and its history while answering any questions thrown his way. 10 out of 10!
