Before starting the climb, you can visit one of the info points of the Vesuvius National Park where you can receive useful information about the protected area and buy a map. From the Piazzale you can already enjoy a splendid view of the northern side of Mount Somma with the cognoli of Sant'Anastasia and Punta Nasone, the top of the ancient volcano which 1,132 metres high, opposite the cognoli of Ottaviano and Levante. While looking upwards, you can hold your breath and see from below what will be the ascent to the bottom edge of Sterminator Vesevo.

Driver Domenica was excellent. Brought us to a beautiful winery for a home cooked lunch and wine tasting. Our guide Ilaria was informative and helpful. Communicating with Antonio via WhatsApp made organizing the day very easy. I highly recommend this group!

Our driver Antonio was extremely knowledgeable about Pompeii, Herculaneum and Mt Vesuvius. He was also very friendly and engaging, I would recommend his tour to anyone wanting a little more than the standard tour at Pompeii. We felt like we learned so much more from him and it was very easy to do as he picked us up at our rental in Sorrento and dropped us off there as well. Thanks again Antonio!

This tour is absolutely wonderful and Antonio makes it that much better. He’s very knowledgeable and provides photos to get a better understanding of what you are seeing and hearing about. It was a long day but definitely worth it!!
