I cannot think of a better way to view the the beautiful island of Sao Miguel. We were there in mid November and of course would have loved to have clear blue skies to visit Sete Cidades, but since that is a rare event during any month, we weren't surprised to have some mist and heavy fog at the top of the crater. It didn't matter, we had a great time. Our guide, Natacha, was great and she is a fantastic ambassador for the Azores. Since we were there as a stop on our transatlantic cruise, we didn't have time to see the western half of the island, let alone any of the other islands. She has convinced us that we must come back in the summer and at a minimum see the western side and enjoy some Cozido das Furnas.
