I absolutely adored this tour! There really is no words to express some of the amazing things you'll see while taking this tour. I would 100% recommend this tour to all of my friends and family, even to random strangers, just to see a different side of the island that others won't find! This was one of my absolute favourites and our guide Joao was absolutely fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. One day I'll come back in the summer just to see the sights again in another season!

The hidden gems tour was absolutely amazing due to a combination of it's almost unknown, secret locations and stopping at points of interest which even some locals are less familiar with. However the real bonus which probably is a rarity, was that l was the only guest/ traveller and therefore l was personally chaperoned by the most captivating Joào for my second time. He really is a gem of the team at Pure Azores and is a first class guide, although not in the usual sense as he can personalise little details that are appropriate to all in a group, but will expand 1:1 on personal requests, questions about every topic connected with the island and more. I am sure all the team are brilliant, but l would recommend this truly remarkable man to be my guide every time. Anyway, less on team- what to expect on this tour. You will be driven through quiet roads, up and down to different locations, whilst able to admire the green pastures/native vegetation, animals, local farmers at work on the land or transporting their resources to other areas on the island. However, the views from the mountain tops to waterfalls, cliffs, lakes and the sea/ coast are phenomenal to experience. Not forgetting the short tranquil walks-an old fortification, valleys, cliff edges, agricultural heritage areas and learn about the islands past and present in an Azorean experts hands.
