On this tour you will be the driver of an ATV and this will probably be the best way to feel the Island.     Lagoa do Fogo is the second largest Lagoon of the Island of São Miguel, and also the highest, classified since 1974 as a Nature Reserve, such as its natural and scenic value. Occupying about 1360 hectares, in the caldera of a dormant volcano that will have formed about 15,000 years ago, giving shape to the great volcanic massif of the Serra de Agua de Pau, Lagoa do Fogo enchants by its natural beauty and phenomenal dimension, arriving at reach 30 meters deep. It is worth to know the natural and natural beauties of this natural wonder and its caldera, where the walls reach 300 meters.

Just went on the tour with Filipe by myself and it was only the two of us but he made the experience very personal and fun! I was nervous at first driving the ATV but Filipe was very detailed in his explanation and reassured me throughout. We went to several places with he most magnificent views. It was a great experience as he was able to show me a lot of the places most people wouldn’t have known to go - including one of the best views from the top of an old abandoned hotel. A recommend! Filipe was so kind to even recommend me some local restaurants after the tour. Thoroughly enjoyed it :)

AzoresOutdoors Activities is worth every dollar and second of your time, and you will not regret booking a tour with them. Philipe knows the island tremendously well, and does a great job of mixing in information with time riding around the island. He is safety conscious, and pays careful attention to his customers, while not watering down the experience. So many tour companies present a packaged tour that feels stale, and unexciting; that is definitely not the case with AzoresOutdoors Activities. They are a small company, and excel at providing responsive customer service before the trip, and a great experience during the tour! We had to change our tour date a week before we arrived and they were easy to contact and work with. During the trip I lost an attachment to my camera, and Philipe went out of his way to find it on the trail and bring it back to me. They are friendly, professional, knowledgeable people, that really care about providing the best possible experience! Highly recommend!
