The city has so many faces. Founded in 129. B.C. as a Roman settlement, Poreč (lat. Parentium) has come a long way. A picturesque town, whose identity was shaped through thousands of years. After the fall of Rome, Poreč came under the rule of numerous kingdoms and empires. Venetian, Austrian, Italian, Yugoslavian, and many other administrations defined the urban identity of the city. In particular, the 6th century Euphrasian Basilica is a perfect example of that, as it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997. You should visit Poreč while in Istria, Croatia. I highly recommend this kayaking tour. Ilija was a perfect guide...calm, friendly and attentive, as well as relaxed enough to let us enjoy the trip at our own speed. The kayaks were really stable and easy to manage. Don't think about it - just do this trip as it's the perfect way to escape the tourist crowd and see the coast line at its natural best.

Sehr schöne Tour, sympathischer Guide, der jede Menge Tips für den Urlaub in Kroatien hatte. Bei einem halbstündigen Zwischenstopp konnten wir Schwimmen und es gab ein kühles Getränk für jedes Alter und etwas zum Knabbern. Der Sonnenuntergang war sehr schön und die Länge der Tour genau richtig. Tip: Sonnenhut, Sonnencreme und Wasser sind unbedingt erforderlich (Wasser gibt es zur Not auch vom Guide)

Very nice trip. Vedran was a good guide! Good view, funny stories and interesting discussions! Kajaks stabil and comfortable.
