Explore the beautiful islands of Casco Bay in this four-hour sea kayak tour. After a brief lesson on the basics of sea kayaking, you'll set out with a licensed Maine Guide. The small group will island-hop through the bay, looking out for seals and seabirds and enjoying the views of lighthouses, 19th-century forts and other fascinating landmarks. We’ll stop at an island for a break and a snack provided by Portland Paddle. This is a great tour for anyone who wants to get a taste of sea kayaking in the rugged islands of the Maine coast.   • Children ages 12-15 must paddle in a tandem kayak with an adult.
  • Children must be accompanied by an Adult
  • Minimum age is 12 years old
  • Most participants are given tandem (two-person) kayaks because they are more stable, spacious and easier to use. Please let us know if you prefer a solo kayak.
  • Please dress appropriately. Bring shoes that can get wet and a windbreaker or other warm layer.
  • Subject to weather conditions. If your tour is canceled due to strong winds or rain, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund.
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

We had a great morning on Casco Bay kayaking to Fort Gorges. Our guide was knowledgeable and did a great job of getting us ready for the kayaking. One thing is that one hour at the Fort was a little long.

This has been on my 'to do' list for awhile so when my sister-in-law came to visit we decided to make the trip! We were in a tandem kayak when we went kayaking in Alaska so we already had that down pat. Our guide Dave was excellent! He gave us lots of interesting tidbits about the area and options about where to pull in and what to see. I would highly recommend this adventure!

Great experience. The guides were awesome, really chill and knowledgeable, and fun. I feel like it took my kayking to the next level with just the right amount of intensity. But also perfect for a one time thing, if you just wanna try it. Finn was hella cool. You got a repeat paddler here, for sure.
