Porto Moniz - Enchanted Terraces: Open 4x4 Full Day Tour

Overall, you see a lot on this trip, but it is weather dependent. The guide gave us enough time to explore each area and the truck was great - although we didn’t get an open roof. The guide was okay and shared some facts about the island but left us on our own without much explanation. It was just a drop off. I would recommend this, but maybe I would try another one next time.

We did the open-top Jeep day tour, and it was hands-down the highlight of our trip. From the moment we were picked up, the energy was fantastic. Our guide was not only incredibly knowledgeable about Madeira’s history, geology, and flora, but also had a great sense of humor and a true passion for the island. Riding in an open-top Jeep gave us a totally immersive experience – we could feel the wind, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and truly connect with the landscape. The off-road portions were thrilling and gave us access to hidden gems we never would have found on our own. One minute we were zigzagging through lush forests, the next we were standing above the clouds on dramatic mountain viewpoints. Every stop was breathtaking – from panoramic cliff views and charming villages to a traditional Poncha tasting that hit the spot! What really stood out was how the tour felt both exciting and personal. Green Devil Safari keeps the groups small and intimate, which made for a more relaxed and friendly vibe. It felt like exploring with a group of friends rather than a scripted tour. If you love nature, adventure, and discovering the soul of a place – this tour is an absolute must. Wow. We laughed and chatted from the beginning. Our guide Eddy was great fun and was able to judge the people on his tour to give the best experience. The off road section was superb. Eddy knew how the handle the jeep and give the maximum thrills safely. The roller coaster section was screamingly good and again he showed how proficient he was behind the wheel of the jeep. The swimming was idyllic but listen to your tour guide as it is very slippy going in. A day of superb experiences, views and memories made. Would highly recommend and ask for Eddy :)
