Casa São Roque is a hidden jewel in Porto! The architecture dialogue with the nature of the park, in addition to having an amazing art collection. Beautiful!

As an admirer of the artistic universe, it was an amazing visit to Casa São Roque - Centro de Arte! We are immediately welcomed by the immense flowering garden full of camellia, perfect setting for a spring afternoon (and summer), to the sound of the water source. The interior of the House is meticulously original and we are quickly transported to the time when the high bourgeoisie inhabited the corridors and divisions of São Roque. Pay attention to all the details of the ceilings and radiators, not to mention the tiles! The main attraction of this Art Center is the combination of architecture inspired by New Art, and the contemporary art exhibition of Peter Meeker, thus separating itself from the classic White Cube very associated with the exhibition of works of art from the mid-20th century. The collection here exposed also presents a good variety of works, from paintings, photographs, sculptures and even video-performance, writing the history of art, not only in Portugal, but also in Spain and Poland, since the 1980s. Combining nature, architecture and art, Casa São Roque - Centro de Arte is a good alternative to the other museums in the city!
