O projeto "Fado by Casa da Guitarra" pretende oferecer-lhe a essência deste género musical num serão de encantamento e deslumbramento. Durante o concerto de uma hora, você entrará em contato com elementos culturais portugueses únicos - Fado, instrumentos tradicionais portugueses de cordas e vinho do Porto - todos profundamente relacionados à história portuguesa. A actuação do fado decorre num ambiente intimista, geralmente com um ou dois cantores, acompanhados por um guitarrista português e por guitarristas (tocando uma viola de fado). Um tradicional vinho do Porto será servido durante o intervalo para completar a noite e será oferecido um postal ilustrado, contendo alguma explicação sobre a essência do Fado. É aconselhável chegar 10 minutos antes.

    According to Amália Rodrigues, the great fado singer, "The point is to feel Fado. Because Fado is not sung, it happens. It can not be explained, only felt." Have a meeting with portuguese culture,  contacting with  very unique  cultural values - fado, portuguese tradicional stringed instruments, wine - deeply related with the history of Portugal. The one hour-long concert starts with the emotional voice of our leading female singer, followed by the rich sounds of the  portuguese guitar and the viola de fado (guitar). On the pause, it will be served a reserve port wine from a portuguese family-owned company of Douro Valley. An hour-long concert that drive us through the intense emotions of Fado.

Si vous allez à Porto, il faut voir au moins une fois le Fado ! Ce chant traditionnel ! Nous avons eu la chance d avoir un chanteur et une chanteuse!

Actually we didn't have many expectations when we went to Casa da Guitarra. We felt that as simple tourists in Porto, we should also go to a Fado performance. What a surprise that turned out to be! I wrote Fado in capital letters because it turned out to be a GREAT Fado experience. Not only music and singing, but especially the special feeling that Fado brought to us. An experience to remember!

Very good singers and musicians, pleasant atmosphere, very good acoustics, we liked very much. You don't notice very much that it's a purely commercial event for tourists.
