Workshop Bake & Taste Pastel de Nata Porto

Be wary of making a reservation in advance. Most classes allow 24 hour cancelation. Not here... they require 20 days in advance!! Most people don't book 20 days ahead so in other words you can never get a refund. And to change the date it must be 7 days in advance. I requested on September 24 to change my reservation from the 27 to the 26 (and there are still openings on the 26) and the answer was no. When i finally found their cancelation policy on line it stated this....no wonder it is not put on the reservaton page...no one would book ahead. However, I did see that I could still get half of my money back, which they did not tell me in their reply email. Very tricky business practices. I hope this helps someone else.

I loved this class! I had just arrived in Portugal for the first time and was made to feel welcome by our lovely expert chef, Hugo. A small group of us made delicious Pastel de Nata, led step by step at a comfortable pace, following a recipe we could then download. I think we all ended the class confident we could have a good go at making them at home. Highly recommended introduction to making a famous Portuguese bake. The kitchen was the perfect venue and I enjoyed a browse around the shop at the entrance too.

The activity sounded great but the organizers canceled it twice at the last moment… Unfortunately really disappointing as we had to organize our week twice differently at the last moment… At the moment, the activity hasn’t been reimbursed yet but payed twice.
