The trip in what is laughingly called "the Venice of Portugal" was advertised as an Old Town and salt pans tour for 15 euros pp. The journey took 45 minutes. The Old Town views were nice, with a running commentary in 4 languages from the energetic Marcos. The salt pans element was a real disappointment. You had to stand on the central raised part of the boat to see over a wall for a glimpse of water. We expected to travel amongst or alongside the area. Not recommended unless you are desperate for the obligatory selfie on a colourful boat. The rest of Aveiro is however well worth a visit.
