Porto, Porto, Portugal Starting from Porto, this tour will drive you to Amarante, our first stop.
On your way to the Douro Region, your guide will give you insights regarding the Portuguese history, development and cultural facts of portuguese heritage.
Amarante, Amarante, Portugal Our first stop is in Amarante.
All visitors will most certainly be impressed by two imposing natural features: the great Serra do Marão rising above the city in a series of majestic landscapes and the river Tâmega, the longest tributary of the river Douro, whose journey begins in Galicia and which flows through the heart of Amarante, giving added colour to the picturesque houses standing on its banks. In the thirteenth century, St Gonçalo, a Benedictine monk and popular saint, arrived in this area, where he eventually settled after completing a pilgrimage to Italy and Jerusalem, later becoming the city´s patron saint. He is accredited with the building of a sturdy bridge over the Tâmega on the same site as the current one. Amarante's sweets and cakes are extremely famous and easy to find in many of the region's cake-shops and cafés. Remember some of the names and make sure to taste them for yourself: papos de anjo, brisas do Tâmega, toucinho do céu, bolos de São Gonçalo, galhofas. 30 minutes
Miradouro de Sao Leonardo de Galafura, Peso Da Regua, Portugal Also known as the São Leonardo da Galafura viewpoint, this place will leave you breathless. From the top of its 640 meters you will have a privileged view of the Douro river and the surrounding landscape. 30 minutes
The Douro Valley, Pinhao, Portugal UNESCO World Heritage. An enchanting valley where green and gold perfectly match the course of the river. Undoubtedly, it can be said that the Douro Valley is one of the most beautiful areas in the world.
It's now time for Lunch! Your guide will take you to a local restaurant where you will have a delicious traditional portuguese meal with drinks included. Try some of most traditional portuguese gastronomy pairing with some local Douro table wine. 60 minutes
5085-037 Pinhão, Portugal The tour continues to Pinhão, one of the most beautiful and charming villages in the region. Stop for a relaxing 1-hour scenic cruise on the waters of the Douro River. Observe the imposing natural views and the wonderful vineyards. End the day with a fantastic visit to a famous winery, where you will not miss the opportunity to taste excellent regional wines and learn all about the culture and process of producing Port. 120 minutes

Our tour guide was Valdeoraz Itelio and he was fantastic. Had plenty of wine, beautiful lunch, cruise through the valley, and stopped by a location for a beautiful view of Douro Valley. I would do it again and recommend it.
