We were left to wait early in the morning in the very cold rain for nearly an hour while we waited for our tour guide to arrive. We were repeatedly told he was “ten minutes away”. After nearly an hour, a replacement guide arrived. He told us he came as a favor to the company. While he was nice, he didn’t go with us into any locations. He dropped us off at Cambria and Fatima and left us to figure things out on our own. He said he had to park or stay with the van (which wa spretty old and beat up). This was absolutely not a guided tour - it was a ride to Cambria and Fatima with a nice man that told us some history. SUPER disappointed and would love a refund.

The most memorable part of our experience was our guide Daniel. Very informative, and an excellent driver since we had a good distance to go. We also liked that it was a small group of us, only 8, and we were able to get individual attention. We were never rushed and was able to relax and enjoy our day. Fatima is a very serene and calm place. Unlike the Vatican. Another plus is that it is free to tour and enjoy the grounds and the church. Being able to see the homes that the children that saw the angel was a real bonus. It really started off the tour right! A big thank you to our guide Daniel. He was greatly appreciated.

It’s not that the tour was bad, it’s that it was poorly communicated to tourists. The tour included Coimbra, home to the oldest university in Portugal and Fatima which is a religious city. Coimbra also happens to be the fourth largest city in Portugal and the old capita yet we only stopped there for less than 30 minutes. It was literally a toilet stop and that is an absolute shame as I’m sure this city has a lot more to offer. The bulk of time was spent on the moving bus but we definitely stayed longer at Fatima. That’s great if you’re into visiting religious sites but not so great if your goal is to visit cultural sites like Coimbra. The tour guide and the driver were excellent and very professional but I would advise to do some research well before purchasing this tour.
