You have to wear comfortable shoes because the floors are very cobbled and lots of sunscreen and sunglasses.

Braga is unfortunately a very conservative town which is reflected in the dominance of the Roman Catholic faith and church. The amenities and restaurant/bars on our visit do not reflect the rest of Portugal. Guimaraes is distinctly better in this respect, but still unlike many other towns in Portugal.

The Bom Jesus Sanctuary, the city of Braga and Guimaraes are three wonderful places to visit. I am grateful that I got to experience these places. The tour bus was small and filled 100%. I found it stifling, especially with a large man squeezed into the seat next to me. The tour guide, who has clearly learnt English recently, had a hard time with pronunciation and grammar. Also he spoke in English and Portuguese and became tiresome to listen to for an entire day. The driver was excellent.
