What an amazing experience! It was difficult to find a wine tour that included grape picking & stomping and this tour exceeded our expectations! Our tour guide, Antonio, was charismatic, informative and just lovely to spend a day with. He told us about the history of the Douro Valley, how and why different grapes are grown in the valley and tons of info on wine. He was also willing to share about modern Portugesse culture and the people. The tour had a variety of tasty wine and the meal was an extravagant 5 course meal including different traditional Portugesse foods. Vegetation options were available, but you would be missing out on many delicious meat dishes. The grape picking and stomping was accompanied by accordion playing and sun protective hats (now souvenirs) were provided. The tour ended with a drive through the gorgeous Duoro Valley and a short, but relaxing boat tour. Overall, amazing tour and experience!
