Our school, Onda Pura, was established in 1994 and is one of the first surf schools to be implemented in Portugal. We are located in Praia de Matosinhos, considered one of the best beaches in the country with perfect conditions for surfing. Our partnerships like Deeply and WSL (World Surf League) guarantee our veracity. At Onda Pura we have the right space, all the material necessary to practice surfing and an excellent team of professionals trained and certified by the FPS (Portuguese Surfing Federation). Matosinhos is such a great place for surfing and the school is conveniently situated by the beach. Super easy going team, nice instructors and overall a very good experience. Because the group lessons were in small groups I felt like the instructor took his time to help everyone out.

Heel erg naar mijn zin gehad. Duidelijke/creatieve uitleg, leuke instructeur, helaas wel heel kort, 1,5 uur gaat zo voorbij. Zou het zeker nog een keer boeken.

The lesson lacked some professionalism and detail, especially for a beginner lesson. We spent a lot of time covering not very much (e.g. 5-10 mins about feet placement), and didn't cover important things such as board safety and surf rules, such as: who has priority on a wave, to block your head from getting hit if you lose your board, not putting your board in front of you as a wave could flip it into your face etc. We just went straight into the water. I was also ignored by one coach, who actually helped teach people who were not in the lesson instead of me, and he was surprised that I wanted help surfing (in a surf lesson that I paid for). I am glad I did it as I enjoy surfing, but I did not feel I got value for money.
