This was a sightseeing off road trip so not much discussion with the driver/guide. He was excellent in the way he handled difficult driving conditions. The weather however did not allow us see much from the peaks and the trip was thus curtailed

We went on a half-day 4x4 trip with Jose, who is very friendly, knowledgeable and an excellent driver. He did his best to show us the most amazing views (despite the occassional fog and drizzle), the challenging off-road tracks, and the indigenous local flora. We drove alongside little farms and vineyards and sampled poncha and Madeira wine. Jose told us a lot about life on Madeira, its history and geology. It was a fantastic journey between valleys, hills, cliffs and the coast. Highly recommended! Many thanks again:-)

Unlike many of the 4x4 tours on Madeira, this one actually goes off road on tracks through the forests. Great fun, good views and very informative driver/guide. Also, very small group size makes it easier at photo and refreshment stops.
