Much of the Algarve’s charm resides in its ability to provide top class tourist facilities and yet retain its own identity, easily visible in the traditional villages and activities of the area. The Porches Pottery workshop is one of the best representatives of this art and many of the traditional methods of production are still used here today. You can see the pottery being made and painted by hand by the artisans. The fishing village of Benagil is perched above the Atlantic and a tiny but picturesque beach, the sound of the Atlantic the uninterrupted sound track to the village’s activities. Heading towards the resort of Carvoeiro we visit Algar Seco where you can see the amazing caves and grottoes carved from the coastline over the centuries. Enjoy a stroll through the village of Ferragudo, along the cobbled streets and down to the small harbor. Our last stop is in a winery where you can enjoy a guided tour and taste some of the wines produced in this region.

We had an enjoyable day out, loved the caves & and pottery !!! but we thought the winery tour- was a bit disappointing. Scenery & meeting a few people along the way. Had a lovely lunch at Salga / Bairil - Praça D. Lenor- Ferragudo. They went out their way to help you. Excellent service & food.

What a great day and Miguel was such a great tour guide with amazing humor. My 13 year old twin lads didn’t get bored once and that’s unusual. Thankyou very much Portitours!

We wanted to see areas we hadn't visited before and were a little concerned that this tour might have been a mistake as it was centered around our holiday accommodation, we needn't have worried. We had a very interesting day out and our guide Michael showed us sights we had completely missed even though we had been within 100 metres of them previously. His information about the area and Portugal in general was really interesting and his humour kept us laughing all day, The winery had some excellent wines at realistic prices and was an enjoyable end to a great day out. This was our fifth Portitours excursion and we have enjoyed every one - thoroughly recommended.
