Booked via Internet prior to leaving UK. Received phone call 24 hours prior to excursion date (cruise cancelled so we were moved to the next available day). Thankfully, this trip went ahead. Boat was spacious approx. 30 tourists omboard. We saw pilot whales en route. When we arrived at Drsertas Islands, the waves breaking on the beach meant it was too dangerous to land. The boat then sailed back to Maderia. We had lunch and swam in the Ponta de São Lourenço bay. We then made our way back to Funchal again, seeing more Pilot Whales. The lunch was good, and the crew was excellent. Although we did not get ashore at the Deaertas Islands overall, the day was fun and excellent value for money, and I would recommend to friends - family.

It was a relaxing dat at see, but 2 times 3 hours on a boat to arrive on An island where is the hike is max 400m in a fix trail, no free hiking. When we arrived at the rocky beach, we could not swim, snorkel of sup because the ranger notices a protected monk seal around there. Nobody of the group had been it though. So all in all, a relaxing dat, Nice lunch, but not worth price of time....
