Park and National Palace of Pena, Sintra, Portugal The thousand-year-old history of the Palace of the Town of Sintra began during the Muslim occupation of the Iberian Peninsula.
This Palace is also called Town Palace, because it’s located in the town of Sintra.
Anyone visiting Sintra, going up the large curve around the valley known as the “Volta do Duche”, is immediately struck by the clear white outline of the Town Palace which dominates with its two immense cones that corresponded to its colossal chimneys. No one will remain indifferent to the originality and the bizarre character of this rich building, resting in the valley and facing the very small town just ahead. 90 minutes
Quinta da Regaleira, Sintra, Portugal This is one of Sintra’s main tourist attractions. This magical village with its extravagant neo-Manueline gardens, dreamed by an Italian opera designer, Luigi Manini, under the orders of the Brazilian tycoon of precious stones and transport, António Carvalho Monteiro, known by Monteiro dos Millões. 90 minutes
Parque e Palacio de Monserrate, Sintra, Portugal Monserrate Palace is a beautiful 19th century stately home. This extravagantly decorated palace blends Portuguese, Arabian and Indian architectural styles and is one the most beautiful buildings in Sintra. The palace was commissioned by Francis Cook, an English textile baron, who used the estate as a summer retreat.
The grounds of the Monserrate Palace hide specialist and exotic gardens with non-native plants. This palace is the smallest of Sintra’s three palaces but it is by far the most decorative and beautiful one. 60 minutes

We took an unplanned tour with Antonio after chatting with the team on the street and what luck that we found him! He had a great itinerary which he was happy to modify based on our interests. He was professional and super knowledgeable but funny and personable. Doing a tour like this was really the best way to see Sintra and the surrounding area - saved so much time and hassle!! Highly recommend.

Sintra is a beautiful historic village. It's old narrow streets and popularity definitely warrant having a guide drive you. Ricardo is a warm, friendly native. He knew where to stop at key historic spots and viewpoints.

Paulo was an excellent guide and a very safe driver! He was so knowledgeable about Portuguese history and we loved his stories, jokes, and facts. He took us to places that were easier to get to and less crowded, since we were limited and not able to walk too much. We loved seeing the Moorish castle and Pena Palace on the hilltops and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the Biester home and National Palace of Sintra. Our trip ended with delicious cod at a restaurant, and a stop at the continent’s most western point and maybe the windiest, too. We learned so much on this tour!
