PRIVATE TOUR - Explore the central massif of Serra de Água de Pau on 4WD tour. See Lagoa do Fogo (Fire Lake), the 2nd largest lake on the island and consider to be one of the 10 most beautiful wild beaches in the World. With tracks that are lined by native flora the entire area was classified by the European Commission as a Special Area of Conservation and part of the Natura 2000 network. Step in to another dimension with the walking trail of Janela do Inferno (Hell´s Window) made through tunnels, Jurassic vegetation and majestic scenery waiting to be seen. Stop at Caldeira Velha to regain energy with a dip in natural thermal pools surrounded by the most lushly endemic vegetation. Lunch will be at Ribeira Grande town. After lunch a small walk around the town followed by a visit to the local liquor factory for a taste of our local liquors. Don’t forget to bring walking boots, swimming suits and towels.

This tour led by our guide Natascha was very informative and nicely structured. Our guide as able to accommodate our wishes and answer our questions. She was friendly, inquisitive and easy-going. I recommend this tour to everyone who wants to have some privacy and access to remote places on the island.

We had a fantastic time with Natasha and the Seazores team! We took two separate tours with them and both were equally rewarding!! We learned about the culture, the Island history as well as all about the nature of the island! Natasha was wonderful with our seven year old son and paced the day and the walks to our needs! So many wonderful memories were made. She made us laugh and smile the whole way!!! Thanks so much!!

We booked the Hell's Fire Tour, started with an amazing hiking tour in the forest, visited the beautiful lake, tasted some great cod fish, explored the coast side by jeep and on top of that learned a great great great great great deal about Sao Miguel. Natacha's enthousiasm has no limits, an incredible guide, a big obrigada and obrigado from Belgium !
