   This full-day tour of the Seven Natural Wonders of São Miguel, we selected 7 places Natural Wonders, being by many the best places with the greatest tourist highlight on the island of São Miguel, is intended for the public that does not have many days, during their stay in São Miguel, this way you get to know some of the best and most beautiful places on our island. We will explore the Lakes of Sete Cidades, Lagoa do Fogo and Furnas, the Tea Plantation, the Boilers and Fumaroles in Furnas and a magnificent waterfall (Salto do Cabrito) and also enjoy the views over the sea coast and the islet of Vila Franca do Campo.

    It is a picturesque place, if we arrive at the place on the day and at the right time, it will certainly be one of the most beautiful lagoons in São Miguel, inserted in the middle of an immense vegetation of Cryptomeria, the lagoons are garnished with azaleas giving a unique color in the spring. The Empadadas Lagoon are two small lagoons, with little depth and that are very close to each other is to take a short walk around it.

    One of the most beautiful waterfalls on the island of São Miguel, whose water comes from springs that are close to Lagoa do Fogo, where in its water course it is used for the production of electricity, which we can see through the hydroelectric power station of Salto do Cabrito , which is close to the waterfall of the same name, as part of the Salto do Cabrito pedestrian trail, it is not easy to reach by car and is also used by bathing places in the summer season.

  • Plantacoes de Cha Gorreana, Portugal
    Located in Gorreana, the Gorreana tea factory that has been operating since 1883, being a family business, has passed from generation to generation and withstood different crises. It is the largest tea factory in São Miguel, where it produces various types of tea, in which Green Tea and Black Tea (Pekoe, Orange Pekoe and Broken Leaf), are the most appreciated by locals and visitors. It is possible to visit and explore the facilities and get to know the whole process and preparation of tea and enjoy a cup of tea at the end of the visit. There is a trail through the plantation where you can get to know Gorreana's tea plantations better.

  • Pico do Ferro Viewpoint, Furnas, Portugal
    This viewpoint has a magnificent and panoramic view over the Furnas lake and valley, from where we can see the dimension of what was the largest volcano on the island of São Miguel and we can also see in this viewpoint the fumaroles next to the lake and the place where it is made the Furnas stew, the viewpoint is well maintained and flowered, with three observation points, allowing you to enjoy the place and the views in different perspectives.

  • Caldeira das Furnas, Furnas, Portugal
    Located in the village of Furnas, the boilers and fumaroles provide an unforgettable experience, not only for its atmosphere, but for the sulfur odors, the noise that comes from the boilers, the steam that comes out of them, but also due to the high number of different springs of water, which can be, carbonated, iron, sour or even hot. Many locals enjoy this place, not only for its waters, but also for the small traditional trade with different local delicacies and not only, with corn being boiled in one of the boilers chosen by the majority of the population.

Foi uma excursão incrível! Em um dia conseguimos conhecer os pontos principais da ilha de São Miguel e ainda comemos o melhor cozido do mundo! Não tivemos que nos preocupar com nada, o guia levou-nos aos melhores pontos da ilha e ainda nos contou toda a história relacionada com a ilha. Foi uma viagem cultural incrível (o guia é uma pessoa que tem uma cultura a cima da média sobre a história dos locais incríveis de São Miguel). Recomendo, sem dúvida, esta excursão ... tornou a minha viagem incrível!

We initially thought to rent a car and explore the island by ourselves, but so glad we didn't do it. Leoncio was our guide and he was exceptional. He picked us up at 9am sharp from the front of the hotel and we had an extensive tour of this gorgeous island.He brought us to places that we would not even found out about. The trip was incredible. Leoncio is a very knowledgeable guide, very proud of his island and he showed us so many beautiful places.We had a great lunch in Furnas and then as the weather was getting rainy, he did us a tour of the city. I can't recommend this trip enough!!!!!Book it!! You will have great memories.
