Gorgeous hike and great to get there early and have the space to ourselves at first. The guides gave us lots of info and made it very easy to maintain contact if needed but it was great to get make our own way along the hikes. We stayed in the area so was a very quick pick up and drop off for us. Overall, great experience and would happily do another hike through their company.

We booked self guided as we needed a lift to the start of the walk and back again. It took 2 hours (!) to drive back to Funchal (the journey out was 45min) as the driver kept stopping to look at banana plants or cows or nativity scenes or…. He said he wanted to show us a waterfall in the road but this was too much. He didn’t stop talking for those 2 hours! I felt hot and sick when I left the van. If we wanted a guided tour, we would have booked one. The walk was lovely.

The experience was amazing and the guide Filipe was so nice, entertaining and full of information and good spots to check out. Very good communication from i a member called Logan when there was car problems that was fixed quickly and when Filipe was ready to pick us up. The hike it self was peaceful and the views were amazing. Would definitely recommend and do more hikes with this company.
