Great way to see a local Madeira vineyard. Our driver picked us up from our hotel. The vineyard was about 35 minutes from Funchal. The tour was great, and included a short walk through the vineyard and a tasting.

Wir haben diesen Halbtagesausflug am Freitag gemacht, weil dies der einzige Wochentag ist, an dem er nachmittags angeboten wird. Gut zu wissen, wenn man nicht schon am Vormittag gut alkoholisiert sein möchte. ????‍???????? Die Fahrt zum Weingut war schon ein echtes Abenteuer, doch dank unserer versierten und sicheren Fahrerin Susanna ein unterhaltsames Erlebnis. Susanna ist ein Schatz, sehr gesprächig, offen und lustig.???? Wir waren diesen Tag die einzigen Gäste, was den Ausflug natürlich extra exklusiv machte. ???? Normalerweise geht es vor oder nach der Weinverkostung noch nach Camara de Lobos, wo wir aber schon waren. Deshalb fuhren wir für einen kurzen Stopp zum Skywalk und dann gleich zum Weingut. Es gab einen kurzen Spaziergang, wofür man schon feste Schuhe tragen und eine Regenjacke dabei haben sollte, falls es wie bei uns etwas nass und ungemütlich wird. Hierbei werden Informationen über den Weinanbau, Sorten etc.gegeben. Danach darf man 6 Weine verkosten; 3 Weiße, 1 Rosè, 2 Rote. Zu jedem Wein wird etwas erklärt. Dazu gibt es Cracker, etwas Käse,Marmelade und Wurst. Die Flaschen bleiben auf dem Tisch zum Austrinken und es wurden sogar noch Flaschen dazugestellt, also reichlich Wein, wer mag.???? Susanna wartete draußen, bis wir bereit für die Rückfahrt waren. Die Location auf dem Weingut fanden wir nicht besonders gemütlich, aber insgesamt war es, schon durch Susanna, ein interessantes und entspanntes Erlebnis. ???? Dankeschön.

This was the best tour of our holiday in Madeira! Our driver was great, punctual and picked us up at our villa in Canico. He was very chatty and informative about Madeira in general and had great information about the area we visited for the tour. Vanda our guide for the wine tour was amazing! We learned such a lot about the processing of the wines and the different varieties. Then the tasting! Generous ...we tasted 6 wines and then were able to continue to have a drink after the tour. The scenery around the vineyard is to be seen to be believed. This tour is very good and we would do it again for the experience.
