Being able to see the sunrise with your friends and family will make your day spectacular. A short walk to the observation site will bring to your memories countless colors, smells and even flavors until you reach the end of the day and get to know the mountains and trails like a real place. 5.45am is a punchy start on holiday, but totally worth it! Claudio is a lovely guy, and a wealth of knowledge on Madiera (especially the flora and fauna) he really helps you to appreciate the beauty of Madiera. The trip was the pinnacle of our holiday, no pun intended. Seeing the spectacular views from Pico Ruivo and as the sun rises above the clouds really was a beautiful moment.

Beautiful private sunrise hike to Pico Ruivo with local mountain guide Claudio. Early morning pickup at 5:45. Winding drive through mountainous island roads to make it on time for a short upward hike to view the most glorious sunrise. Silence and peace up above the clouds. You feel like you are on top of the world. We highly recommend this tour with Claudio; it was an unforgettable experience that we will remember forever!

Claudio made the whole experience for us, he really went above and beyond. Teaching us about Madeira and the meanings of things along the way. He made it personal to us and went out of his way to show us a few spots he knew we’d love.
