An enormous crater hides the glamorous Lagoa do Fogo at the top of the Fogo Volcano at 575m above sea level. Toward to the west side of the island with stops at dazzling locations that raise the spirit gathering happiness, go to the inside of the caldera of Sete Cidades Volcano, uncovering secrets and legends that Sete Cidades encloses. José is incredibly knowledgeable about the flora, fauna, geology and history of São Miguel. He gave us insights into the things we saw that we'd have never learned otherwise. We visited parts of the island we could never have seen on our own. José speaks perfect English and shared some personal stories that really deepen the sense of living on Sao Miguel. He even made us a fantastic lunch reservation (on our request) for the following day in Furnas. No regrets!
