Dresden is one of the most charming and attractive cities on the Elbe.
Be enchanted by them during a tour of the historic center, after which we will immerse ourselves in the whirlwind of the unique atmosphere of the Christmas markets.
Itinerary:
- Hotel pick-up at 8:00 am
- We will park the car at the parking lot Centrum-Galerie (Prager Straße)
- We start with a historic center tour
- After the sightseeing tour, we will visit Dresden Medieval Christmas Market - Stallhof and the oldest Christmas market in Germany the Altmarkt Christmas Market
- When we're all in the Christmas spirit it's time to head back to the car
- Hotel drop-off approx. 5:30 - 6 pm

The architect Gottfried Semper first built a theater on this site, but it fell to ashes in 1869. Semper then designed an opera house in its place.

The Dresden Zwinger, Dresden, Saxony, Germany The Zwinger is a complex of Baroque buildings with a garden in the Old Town of Saxon Dresden. It is one of the most significant construction works from the Baroque period in Germany. Next to the Frauenkirche, the Zwinger is the city's most famous landmark. Originally, it was supposed to be the courtyard of a magnificent castle, but it was never built.
Royal Palace (Residenzschloss), Dresden, Saxony, Germany Dresden Castle or Royal Palace is one of the oldest buildings in Dresden, Germany. For almost 400 years, it was the residence of the electors and kings of Saxony from the Albertine House of Wettin as well as the Kings of Poland. It is known for the different architectural styles employed, from Baroque to Neo-renaissance.
Schloßstraße 24, 01067 Dresden, Germany Hofkirche is a baroque Catholic church. It is the largest temple building in the state of Saxony. It has been the cathedral of the Dresden-Meißen diocese since 1980.
Augustus Bridge, Dresden, Saxony, Germany The Augustus Bridge is a monument that co-created the history of this significant Saxon city.
The stone bridge was built around 1287, but it probably existed as a wooden one before that.
In the Middle Ages, it was the longest stone bridge in Germany and was 521 meters at the time (according to other sources, it was even 40 m more).
Bruehlsche Terrasse, Dresden, Saxony, Germany The terrace, nicknamed the "Balcony of Europe", stretches high above the banks of the Elbe.
Originally, it was part of the Dresden fortifications, which was bought in 1739 by Count Heinrich von Brühl.
Albertinum, Dresden, Saxony, Germany The Albertinum is a modern art museum. The sandstone-clad Renaissance Revival building is located on Brühl's Terrace in the historic center of Dresden. It is named after King Albert of Saxony.
Frauenkirche Dresden, Dresden, Saxony, Germany A symbol of the Saxon metropolis and one of the most important Baroque buildings in Germany. The dome of the church is one of the largest north of the Alps.
You can optionally ascend to the viewing platform of the dome. A height of 67 meters offers a stunning view across the city of Dresden and its surroundings. (Adults: 10 euros) 40 minutes
Dresden Christmas Market, Dresden, Saxony, Germany Dresden’s Striezelmarkt is considered to be the oldest Christmas market in Germany.
But it’s not just its record age that attracts visitors; it also boasts other outstanding features, such as the world’s tallest, 14.61-meter-high Ore Mountain step pyramid, what is likely to be the world’s largest walk-in candle arch, and a daily program of cultural Christmas events for young and old.

My family and I enjoyed the trip so much, our guide was wonderful and had lots of knowledge about the buildings and monuments which we visited on the tour. He was very friendly and helpful. We had lots of time to explore and experience the beautiful Christmas market and the surrounding buildings. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone who loves Christmas and history.

A really good tour, Ondrej is a good guide, friendly and helpful. Dresden is an interesting city and the Christmas markets are wonderful. The drive was a pleasant one and the vehicle comfortable. I was travelling solo, but I enjoyed the company of my fellow travellers and Ondrej. All in all, a good day out.
