Carlsbad was founded in the 14th century by Charles IV. He noticed thermal springs while hunting in this area. After he tried their magic effect, he decided to build a city, which was named in honor of the Emperor. This was the starting point of Karlovy Vary's​ history. This tour starts with a hotel pick up by the tour’s driver (not a guide). He didn’t speak much English but was helpful and on time. The driver takes you first to either the brewery or Moser glass museum/showroom. We chose Moser. There you enter a small museum with an audio guide then you go to the showroom if you’re in the mood for expensive glassware. Then the driver takes you to the center of Karlovy Vary to meet a local guide. Ours was Olga. She was amazing! The 2-hour guided walking tour takes through out the center of the town. It’s breath taking with all the thermal water springs that you can try. It’s a lovely town with many hotels/spas, restaurants, and beautiful buildings. Then you have 4-5 hours to explore on your own. It’s relaxing happy atmosphere that we enjoyed. Highly recommended trip.
