Explore the famous Terezin Concentration Camp on a half-day guided tour which starts in the heart of Prague in front of the Rudolfinum building, where you will meet our assistant with a blue and white umbrella.
On the bus, you have the opportunity to listen to an audio guide right on your phone that will introduce you to the history of the Czech lands, the history of the Jews in our country, and the history of the town of Terezín. Our English-speaking assistant will be available to take care of you throughout the whole time.
In the small fortress of Terezín, you will take part in a guided walk with a local guide in the language of your choice. Learn about how Terezin changed dramatically when the Nazis renamed it Theresienstadt and sent the first Jewish transports there in November 1941.
After all of this, you will be safely transported back to Prague by our minibus.

Mala Pevnost (Small Fortress), Terezin, Czech Republic Terezin consisted of the Big Fortress and the Small Fortress. The Big Fortress was surrounded by ramparts and contained barracks. However, Terezin had not been used as a fortress since 1888; Terezin had become a garrison town that remained virtually the same, almost entirely separated from the rest of the countryside. The Small Fortress was used as a prison for dangerous criminals. Terezin changed dramatically when the Nazis renamed it Theresienstadt and sent the first Jewish transports there in November 1941. The Nazis sent approximately 1300 Jewish men on two transports to Theresienstadt. These workers made up the Aufbaukommando, later known in the camp as AK1 and AK2. These men were sent to transform the garrison town into a camp for Jews. The largest and most serious problem these workgroups faced was metamorphosing a town that in 1940 held approximately 7,000 residents into a concentration camp which needed to hold about 35,000 to 60,000 people. 120 minutes

This is very informative tour on the Terezin detention camp. The tour includes a visit to the cemetery and then the little fortress which was the political prison site in the camp. A Terezin guide takes you through the little fortress. I wish we had driven through the town side a bit more, but since it is now a restored and inhabited town, I can understand not everyone would want to see that side. The transportation was a very comfortable bus that departs from the Rudolfinum near the river.
