From there, we will hop on a ferry to the Asian side and visit the charming neighborhood of Kadikoy (formerly known as Kalkedon, which means the "city of blind people"). You'll love the authentic Turkish dishes and traditional kebabs available there, or if you're feeling a bit more daring, go ahead and try a liver wrap! Afterward, let's head to the fish market, where we can indulge in some delicious stuffed or fried mussels or pickles.

We’ve joined many guided tours in different countries, and this is by far the best private tour we have ever had. Furkan not only took us to excellent food places but also gave us a lecture on Turkish history, culture, everyday life, and handy tips for the rest of our time in Istanbul. We felt like locals more than tourists. This trip was a birthday gift to my husband, and Furkan’s food tour was the highlight for us. I must admit, we already looking forward to our next trip to Istanbul.

We found Private Istanbul Walking Tours through TripAdvisor and have fantastic things to say. Our tour was conducted with our lovely and wonderful new friend Derya. We learned so much about local life and purveyors, along with Turkish cuisines and traditions. Most importantly, the tour has the perfect length of time. The food choices were so delicious, and we returned to the same ice cream and dessert shop twice in Istanbul. Her dining recommendation for our last night was precisely the type of food, service, and taste we were hoping for. We own a travel agency, and we will absolutely be using Private Istanbul Walking Tours for our client’s travel needs in Istanbul and Turkey.

Furkan was amazing. The food, experience, conversation and day was simply the best. I cannot say enough about our experience. The food was delicious. The background and history of Istanbul was priceless. And the ease of it all made a perfect day in Istanbul.
