It is believed that these platforms were the base of royal houses in the Ayutthaya period.

The summer palace is very European in style and less less of what most tourist likely want to see. The remaining visits are more novel and exotic, albeit some are mostly in ruins. Still, since almost everything in Bangkok in very contemporary, so the day trip provides an alternative view of Thailand past and older temples.
