We had a rough start to the tour when the instructions said to meet at the “anchor” at the Vasa Museum but there in fact there were anchors in 2 locations. One in front and a 2nd on the dockside behind the museum. We arrived early to the front of the museum via the dockside path. We did not see an anchor in front so we went to the dockside location. We waited for 15 minutes after the appointment time & returned to the front where we saw our guide Emma by the other anchor which was only partially visible at the museum entrance.
This was frustrating but Emma apologized for the confusion and the tour began. The Vasa Museum was amazing and she gave us a real feel for the Vasa’s history & background at a rather fast pace. From there we proceeded to the ferry and Old Town. I was apprehensive about this portion of the tour but Emma took us to numerous points of interest with very thorough & interesting explanations. She was a very fast walker which challenged us but it meant we were able to see more points. Due to the delayed start Emma continued the tour as compensation which we appreciated.
