Visit a cheese factory and learn how clogs are made from one of the last remaining clogs makers. It is also possible to take the boat to the charming island village of Marken.

That is exactly why we have been providing this boat experience for almost 100 years. As a guest on the ships of the Volendam Marken Express, you will experience the island feeling from the moment you get on board. Enjoy the snacks and drinks in The Captains Bar during the passage, which takes around 30 minutes. Listen to stories of our crew or follow the audio tour (also in English!) to learn more about both old harbor villages. Whether you sit on on the lower or upper deck of our boat, you feel completely free when you sail on the waters of the Markermeer.

This is a professional transportation service, not a tour. Lewis, the owner, drove us. He was professional and kind. Worked closely with us to have a van big enough for my father’s scooter. The van (small bus) was new, clean, cool and very comfortable. Lewis gave us facts about Amsterdam and the cities we passed through and offered to stop at a cheese factory on the way. He was patient and accommodating. I encouraged him to add formal tour services. He’s a natural.
