Come to Chichenitza and visit one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, El Castillo, also known as the Temple of Kukulkan, a Mayan Pyramid right in the middle of this impressive archeological site in the state of Yucatán, Mexico. It was recently discovered this pyramid was built above a huge Cenote (sinkhole) making the construction of this buliding a real feat. You can not miss visiting and knowing the history of this marvelousl Mayan city. Near Chichenitza, there are some wonderful refreshing Cenotes which are like an Oasis in the middle of this jungle, here you will be able to swim and snorkel and relax in the pristine waters of these natural swimming pools. Finally we are going to visit the beautiful colonial town of Valladolid where you will get to know more of the real Mexico, visiting old churches, markets, etc. This is also a great place for shopping pretty handicrafts or delicious chocolate.

Our day was incredible! I loved it! It was nice to be picked up and dropped off at our hotel. The individual attention given to our family was appreciated. The van was comfortable. Our guide, Omar, was great. His English is really, really good. (He spent time living in the USA and understands Americans.) He was very engaging. Ask for Omar! He has family connections to the Mayan culture. He was able to help us understand it better. Omar had SO much information to share about Chechen Itza. He could answer any question asked. He told us about the history of Valladolid too. Our guide took us to a beautiful cenote. It’s less known, so there were no crowds. It felt like our own paradise. Omar took us to eat with a private Mayan family, instead of at a large buffet. It was just our group. The food was really, really good. We learned some Mayan words. I regret that it was our first day in Mexico. We hadn’t figured out the tipping culture yet. (I think we didn’t tip Omar well enough. Oops. He certainly deserved it. But, he was gracious.) Thank you to Omar, and the whole company!

The best was the time we arrive 6 minutes after opening so there were few people inside, it was not too hot and there were several place to “hide” from the sun while the guide explain, the bathrooms were clean and no qeue. The guide REne was super!! The cenote we visit was great with inly us and another 3 couples which was also fantastic. We were travelling with a 3years old and he enjoy the experience a lot very easy trip that we all enjoy and the guide/driver Leo was super and very pacient. Lovely experience and definetly woth to take no regrets at all.
