From mid-November to New Year's Eve, Vienna’s prettiest squares transform into magical Christmas markets. The generously illuminated monumental buildings along the Ring make a fabulous backdrop and the aroma of Christmas bakery items and hot punch creates a pre-Christmas atmosphere. Snack on cream-filled pastries, candied fruit, roasted chestnuts, and Weihnachtspunsch (a spiced "Christmas punch" of wine, brandy, or schnapps sweetened with warm fruit juices). Located on almost every corner of the city, there’s a wealth of market huts to browse with the largest marker in front of the impressive City Hall. Get in the holiday spirit on this 2.5-hour walking tour of Vienna’s Christmas Markets in some of the city’s most picturesque squares.

Our guide, Daniella, was perfect for our group. She was engaging and full of interesting information about the history of Vienna. She kept the tour moving at a nice pace and filled in information about the Christmas markets too. Would highly recommend.
