Jimmy Yam was an excellent guide and I would recommend asking for him for the demilitarized zone tour

Namho was such a great guide for us. He has a very nice car and made sure to keep us comfortable. He took care of all the tickets so there wasn’t any standing in lines for us. He also ensure that we got the monorail for the 3rd tunnel, which saves time and energy to do other activities in the day. Namho has personal history in the area and is very knowledgeable on the Korean War. He made this trip a special day for us and we will never forget it. We did the suspension bridge in the mountains which was beautiful and refreshing. If you are trying to decide between which option to choose between suspension bridges, I heard that the lake is slightly better for the view. Make no mistake, the mountain suspension bridge was still fantastic.

Visiting the DMZ is a remarkable and moving experience I recommend to anyone. Seeing so much political and military division between essentially similar people makes a person think about how we need to live in this world today. The tunnel we saw was one of four discovered so far (yes, there might be more!) made in secret by the North Koreans **after the war** aiming toward Seoul. Once, there were farming communities in the North and the South within a few kilometers of the border, but the one that had been occupied by the North is deserted. Only the large North Korean flag remains.
Our guide, Taylor, really knew the history and facts of the situation and explained it quite well. He's a great guide, and you'll be lucky if you get him.
There's also a visit to a suspension bridge included in this package. It's cute, but not worth either the time or the money. If you can find a tour that's shorter and costs less, but skips the bridge -- go for it.
