Kritinia Castle, Greece If you want to find the place where fascinating history meets breathtaking beauty and dive into charm of the Greek village, this place is for you. The castle of Kritinia is built on 131 m hill above the village. The original settlement with the name Kritinia was founded by the few families who escaped from Crete when it was taken by the Turks. Hence the name of the place – Kritinia means New Crete. Initially the village was on the coast but had to be moved to the hill because of the constant threat from the pirates.

Embonas, Embonas, Greece Wineries near Embonas village are famous for producing the best wine in Greece. The village itself is incredible, being inland and relatively far from the big cities it is almost untouched and unspoiled by the tourism. Some inhabitants of the village still wear their traditional costumes and preserve local folklore. The houses are also brilliant examples of typical rural Greek architecture. All this looks like the decoration for a movie but it is not, it is real! Enjoy Greek wine tasting.

Monolithos, Monolithos, Greece The Monolithos village is quite small but with its own character. The whitewashed houses with tiled roofs surrounded by beautiful flowers and fruit trees can’t leave you indifferent. There are local taverns with excellent food and some shops with unsophisticated souvenirs. If you find the time to get to Monolithos you will undoubtedly enjoy the authentic atmosphere of the Greek village.
Monolithos Castle, Greece If you reach the castle on top of the rock, you will be rewarded by the best view in Rhodes. Someone compares this view with the one from Santorini, but it is obviously better. At the foot of the rock there are lovely houses of the local villages surrounded by the endless pine forest and straight ahead all possible shades of blue. Up to the horizon there are waters of the Mediterranean and Aegean Sea! 40 minutes
Lindos, Lindos, Greece Lindos is one of the most impressive archaeological sites not only in Greece but also in the world. It has traces of different civilizations. Ancient Greek, Roman, Byzantine traditions blend here with the Medieval heritage of knights of the Order of Saint John. You can explore cosy Lindos village and climb the stairs to visit Acropolis.

This was a great tour! Our bus was right on time in picking us up from the port. Our tour guide and driver were so friendly. We enjoyed the day very much and would recommed it over an excuersion offered by the cruiseline. It was private, comfortable and very enjoyable.

This was by far the worst of the 7 tours we booked with Viator. The operator started emailing us while in transit to Greece requiring way more money due to influx of Americans and gas prices. We paid for this tour months ago. Somehow, they cancelled our trip thru TA and booked thru their own company with upped charges. Driver was nice, but left us at the foothills of Lindos where we got lost and wandered for over an hour. Finally contacted his offices to have them get him to come find us at a restaurant on top of a hill. He finally came. It was so hot. None of our other tours dumped us and were readily available to ensure we knew how and where to meet them. He was a nice guy - but gave my daughter and I a big scare. We went to a winery where we were greeted and then the man went to greet a larger group of people and left us standing, so we told the driver to take us back to the ship. Two terrible stops, no fun or good memories of Rhodes. Total rip off!!

We were unable to find our tour group as the only message that was sent in Viator under contact operator. We never got a phone call or text that they were waiting for us. The time was moved from 9 am to 8:30 with no notification and we found a message that they could no longer wait an hour after we missed the tour. We we had printed all our information out before the trip. As disappointing as this was, when we asked for a refund, they blamed us and said since we could not able find the tour it was our fault and perhaps we should book private tours in the future. Some free advice, if you have a choice steer clear. Do not approve of communication or business practices. All it would have taken is a phone call in the 17 minutes they claimed to be waiting for us to have this all be resolved. Not to much to ask in my opinion when you have already payed for a nearly $200 tour.
We always double-check the availability with our local partners for each booking. Even though this is usually a swift process, it can take up to 24 hours. Once this process is completed you will receive your voucher or ticket by email. If our local partner is not able to confirm your booking we will offer you the best possible alternative. If the new date and/or time doesn’t fit your itinerary, we will reimburse the full amount paid.
How great that you want to share your experience! Your feedback helps other travelers to make a better choice.
