We chose Diogo for his remarkable perfect score on reviews. Initially we booked a half day but planned to adjust the trip once we started. Diogo was true to his perfect rating. We removed the touristy sites and added a walk along a Levada and Pico do Areeiro to be above the clouds. Diogo cares greatly about Madeira, and provides great information about any subject you can ask as a question. He is an excellent driver. There was always a feeling of safety with his conduct. His English was very good. After the trip Diogo suggested a great restaurant for a late lunch. We wish we had gone there for a more substantial meal at Adegar do Pomar. His Van is a Mercedes in very good condition. Don’t think too long on your choice. Go with Diogo and you are guaranteed a memorable day where you learn a lot about Madeira and its people. Invest in a private tour and support the local people.

Diogo was an outstanding guide for our half-day tour of beautiful Madeira. He was extremely knowledgeable, pleasant, and professional. He is also a great driver! We very much enjoyed the tour route and stops that he arranged, his clear explanations of what we were seeing, and his many insights. It was a truly memorable time in a very spectacular place! Highly, highly recommend Diogo!
