  • Concha y Toro, Pirque, Chile
    The Maipo Valley is the closest Chilean wine region to Santiago. It is a historic wine-producing region and the birthplace of the Chilean wine industry with vines growing there for the past 150 years. First, we will visit the internationally-renowned Concha y Toro Vineyard, which dates back to 1883. The founder was Don Melchor Concha y Toro who brought the first vines that were planted from the Bordeaux region in France to Chile and grew prosperously in the Maipo River basin. Walk around the gardens of the summer residence of the Concha y Toro family, discover the variety garden, visit their cellars and taste a selection of three of their fine wines.

  • Vina Santa Rita, Buin, Chile
    Then, we will visit Santa Rita Vineyard, which dates back to the 1880s and plays an important role in Chilean history as the site of one of the battles during the War for Independence. Admire the old hacienda-style Estate house and enjoy your wine while you stroll through the old cellars. You will see the grape variety garden, vineyards, winemaking and cellaring facilities, and bottling process, visiting “Bodega 1” – the winery’s first cellar and the “Cellar of the 120 Patriots”. You will discover the exciting story that gives 120 its name. The tour ends with a tasting of Reserva and Gran Reserva wines.

  • Museo Andino, Alto Jahuel, Chile
    After the tour, you can visit the neighboring “Museo Andino” (Andean Museum), which contains a special collection of pre-Columbian pottery, textiles and other artifacts.

  • Alternative vineyards will be visited if either Santa Rita or Concha y Toro are closed or do not have availability on the date selected.
  • The Andean Museum is closed on Mondays.

Sean was punctual, friendly, and informative. The van was comfortable with reclining captains chairs and climate control. I was able to charge my phone by USB, and there were bottles of water for us. The ride was smooth, and the day was relaxing. The tours themselves were very different but complementary. Highlights were a fantastic guide in the vineyards at C&T and then the best wine at Santa Rita. Sean accommodated us by carrying and storing our things for us and also made good food suggestions that we enjoyed during our excursion as well as afterwards after returning to Santiago. This tour has been the highlight of our trip to Chile so far. In all, it was a very pleasant day. I think Sean is among a select few of the best guides/operators with whom I have ever spent a day over the last 20+ years traveling and seeing the world.

We just got back from our winery visit led by Sean and we cannot recommend it enough! Sean picked us up from our hotel and made the two visits very smooth by coordinating everything. Sean grew up in the US but has lived in Chile for 30+ years so his English and Spanish are perfect. He’s also well versed in Chilean history and Santiago and can answer any question you may have! If you visit Santiago you must book a trip with Sean as it will be the highlight of your visit!

If you want a personalized boutique experience when visiting the local wineries around Santiago Chile book with Chile Dream Tours ! We had such a great day visiting Santa Rita and Concha y Toro with our guide Daniel . He offered local insight and history of Chile and was attentive to our needs throughout the day. This was the perfect tour in length 10:30-5 :00 pm and not too far a car drive from our hotel in Bella Vista neighborhood . Thanks Daniel , and Sean and Chile Dream Tours ! Kate & Andrew
