    Spread over a sprawling 94 acres, this massive red sandstone fort lies parallel to the Yamuna River and situated 2 kilometers northwest of the Taj Mahal. The Agra Fort (Red Fort) was originally occupied by Sikarwar Rajputs and was later captured by Lodi rulers of Delhi. after the Lodi’s were defeated in the Battle of Panipat, the victor Emperor Babur took over the fort. After losing the fort briefly to the Suri rulers, it was eventually reclaimed by Akbar who made Agra his capital.

I hired Janur Private Tours for my whole weekend in the north of India and I cannot say enough good things about this company and its staff!! My base was Jaipur where Naveen picked me up from the airport and also showed me around all the key sites of Jaipur on Saturday. He was super nice, patient, and knowledgeable about Jaipur. Such a great experience. On Sunday, Naveen picked me up super early and we made the drive all the way to Agra, stopping once along the way for food/bathroom. In Agra, we picked up the Taj Mahal tour guide named Imran Khan - he was also amazing! I was traveling alone and he orchestrated a full-on photo shoot for me at the Taj Mahal. Also very knowledgeable and helpful in every way. After the Taj Mahal we also did the Agra Fort and stopped by a marble artisan shop as well. On the ride back from Agra to Jaipur, Naveen kindly found a place that would accommodate my veganism :) which is surprisingly tough with Indian food (lots of cream/butter typically). The meal ended up being delicious and I was super happy. Long story short - I HIGHLY recommend this company and especially the 2 guides/drivers that I had, Naveen & Imran! THANK YOU BOTH SO MUCH!

Went on a 3 days 2 nights trip to Agra. The whole experience from beginning to end was smooth and enjoyable. Our driver Mr. Nizam took great care of us throughout the whole trip. He also took time to explain to us the details of each monument before arrival as well as significant landmarks that we bump into along the way. He actually bought us jasmine flowers when he overheard that we liked it! Cold soft drinks and snacks are also provided throughout the trip. Our guide at Fatehpur Sikri, Raj, was excellent! He went out of his way to show us a local wedding that was happening during our trip there and explained to us their cultures and way of living. I’d like to say thank you to both Mr. Nizam and Raj for the memorable experience in India!
