We were met at the port right on time and had a comfortable van with an excellent driver who navigated thought the crazy traffic in Alexandria and Cairo. We visited the Cairo Museum, then went to a Papyrus store (which we did not know about and turned out to be a sales thing where we wasted much time) , then on to lunch in a restaurant which looked directly at the Sphinx and pyramids..had a good lunch (drinks not included.. oddly) and then we to go and see the pyramids….but they close at 5 and so due to poor time management on the part of our guide we almost missed seeing them and had time only to take a few pictures before they closed the park. When going to the pyramids the guide didn’t explain that if we wanted to go inside and climb to the top of the great pyramid it was a different ticket and more money ..we lost precious time going back and getting a new ticket. Time management was a big issue for us so recommend making sure you have time to visit the pyramids and the museum. The other issue we had was our guide who was good in that she had good info about the relics but it was difficult asking any questions beyond what she had learned for the tour. She did not manage our time well so that we would have enough at the pyramids which is the main reason for the tour.
