What an experience! The night before our excursion, our operator (Mark) reached out to us letting us know what time he'd be there to pick us up. He was prompt and on time and very communicative.
ATV: For starters, I've never done this before so it's safe to say that it is beginner friendly. When we arrived at the location, they were BEYOND friendly. I told them I was nervous and not athletic and who I assumed to be the manager told me I was in good hands, and he was correct. It was just me and my husband so we were able to do things at our own pace. Andrew showed us the ropes on how to navigate the ATV, took us on a practice trail then we hit the real deal. We were in a grassy area/forest with dirt roads. It had rained the day of/before, so we even had a little mud action. The experience was great overall, and he didn't make me feel bad for going extremely slow lol.. It was enough excitement for me, so that's all that mattered.
Ricks Cafe: Glad we went, but I also could've passed. It's similar to Margaritaville and filled with tourists like myself. There is an area where you can jump from the cliff directly into the water. While I like the water, I'm not much of a swimmer. So to see everyone jump in and not hit the ground.. lol hard pass for me. That said, my husband loved it. If you know how to swim with ease and don't mind deep waters you'll likely love this. There are 3 different heights to jump from. There is also a pool at the top, a restaurant, and a live DJ at the location. We stopped by the restaurant for food & drinks. Mark was kind and for each excursion, he patiently waited outside in the car. Once we were ready to go, we were able to walk out and hop in the car.
Overall, it was a great experience. Jamaica never fails to disappoint me. Until next time!
