In the colonial center of the city is the 16th century Palacio de Cortés, former home of the Spanish conqueror Hernán de Cortés and currently a history museum with murals by Mexican artist Diego Rivera. To the southwest is the Cathedral of Cuernavaca, in a 16th century walled monastery with a mural depicting Mexico's first saint 60 minutes
Cathedral of the Asencion (Catedral de la Asuncion), Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico Cuernavaca Cathedral is the seat of the Catholic diocese of the same name in Mexico. It is a 16th century building, which makes it one of the oldest cathedrals in the country. It was originally erected as the convent of the Assumption, the fifth Franciscan foundation in Mexico 30 minutes
Museo regional de los pueblos de Morelos, Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico It is a New Spain civil palace from the 16th century, a historical monument located in Cuernavaca, Morelos (Mexico), ordered to be built by Hernán Cortés in the immediate years after the Conquest of Mexico. It was his residence, after living in Mexico City, where he settled the encomienda given upon receiving the Marquis of the Valley of Oaxaca. It bears an enormous similarity to the Alcázar de Colón in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, which predates this one (1506). Santa Prisca de Taxco, Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico The Temple of Santa Prisca is a colonial monument that is located in the city of Taxco de Alarcón, in the north of the state of Guerrero, Mexico. It is a building built in the 1750s (more precisely, between the years 1751 and 1758), dedicated to Catholic worship in that town whose main activity was - and continues to be - silver mining.
The construction was ordered by José de la Borda, one of the most prosperous mining entrepreneurs in the Taxco region in the 18th century. magnifique excursion car très documentée par la guide Veronica et le chauffeur Arturo très professionnel.
Grâce à la guide nous avons beaucoup appris sur l'histoire du Mexique et bien que l'excursion était toute la journée nous n'avons pas vu passé le temps.

Excellent trip if you want to explore a quirky mountain town. I wasn’t feeling good (too much tequila) but our tour guide Maximo was very attentive and accommodating to us. It’s a long ride with many curves “Curvas Peligrosas” and high altitude so take some medicine if you’re not used to that. Great place to buy silver goods. Would recommend!

We used Mexico Tour Freelance every day for a week, combining multiple tours shown on Tripadvisor. The whole time we were with the same tour guide, Arturo, who was full of great information. We also had Christian as our driver every day, who expertly navigated that crazy Mexico City traffic. Together they did a fantastic job making customizations to all of the tours on the fly when something came up that interested one of us.
Did this tour on our last night, and it was a beautiful way to end the vacation. Cuernavaca is was a brief visit to a few main sites, then it was on to Taxco which was really different. Narrow streets winding up the hill make the ride way up to the overlook exciting, and the panoramic view is beautiful.
