Tsakhkadzor, Tsakhkadzor, Armenia Tsaghkadzor is cozy city in Kotayk province of Armenia, a popular ski and climatic resort, which translated from Armenian means “Gorge of Flowers”. Already in the V century BC became aware of the curative properties of the local climate.
And the nature here is indescribable! Here you will see mountains, snow-capped peaks, swift rivers, steep cliffs, picturesque valleys covered with flower carpet, dense forests and medicinal springs, among them well-known Arjahpyuru and Ttujur. In Tsakhkadzor you will find all the conditions for a good rest and sport. There are many children’s camps, rest homes. Also the main sports complex of the country was also built, which brought Tsakhkadzor international fame. Kecharis Monastery, Tsakhkadzor, Armenia The monastery complex Kecharis was erected in the XI century in Tsakhkadzor. In the 12th-13th centuries, Kecharis was considered a major cult center of Armenia, which had a higher school. The complex consists of three churches, two chapels and a porch, to the west of which, another church with its porch. The main temple is the church of St. Gregory, the first building of the monastery erected by Grigor Magistros Pahlavuni in 1003. The Surb Nshan church is a small structure erected in the XI century, probably soon after the first church. To the south of this church stands the church of Katogike, which was built in the time of Prince Vasak Khakhpakyan or Proshyan (the first quarter of the 13th century) by the architect Vetzik, in memory of which the original cross-stone carvings were staged. The chapel adjacent to the church of St. Gregory served as the burial-vault of the founder of the monastery of Grigor Magistros Pahlavuni, dated to the 11th century. 40 minutes
Lake Sevan, Armenia The high-mountainous Lake Sevan is the “pearl of Armenia”. Lake Sevan – located at an altitude of 1,900 m above sea level in the center of the Armenian highland, 63 km northeast of the Armenian capital of Yerevan city and is the largest of the Caucasus lakes. From all sides, Sevan is surrounded by mountain ranges, offering a stunning view of alpine lake.. The lake is famous for its purest fresh water, and pure mountain air has a beneficial effect on health. 40 minutes
H276+GCV, Sevan, Armenia The monastery complex Sevanavank is located on the peninsula of Sevan. In 305, it was founded by St. Gregory the Illuminator, who built the church on the place of a pagan temple. In the 9th century the princes of Syunik made Sevan a point of their suppurt. In 874 the wife of the Syunik prince Vassak and the daughter of the king Ashot Bagratuni – Mariam built here two churches – St. Arakeloc and St. Astvatcatcin. They are rich in various wood-carved capitals, a aprt of which is kept in the Armenia State Museum of History and in the Art Gallery of St. Petersburg (Hermitage). In 1869 a spiritual school opened in the complex. On the top of the mountain of the island the remnants of the church with a domed hall are preserved. The teritory of the cloister is rich in khachqars (cross-stones). 30 minutes

Lake Parz, Dilijan, Armenia Lake Parz is beautiful at any time of the year. In summer, you can relax here from the heat, because of the cold currents and dense trees surrounding the lake. Lake Parz is famous for its appearance: the mirror surface fully reflects the colors of the surrounding forest; in summer and spring - shades of green, in autumn - red and gold, and in snowy winter - a special beauty in blue and white. 60 minutes
Haghartsin Monastery, Dilijan, Armenia The last destination during this trip will be the monastery of Haghartsin, dating back to the 10th -14th centuries. The name is translated as “the play of the eagle”. The scenery is somewhat similar to a stunning work of art, with both the monastery and the nature surrounding it providing a breathtaking view. It is one of those spots in Armenia that feels like a breathtaking unreal movie set. 40 minutes

Our second day tour we visited Khorvirap monastery and areni winery with our tour guide Davit. It was fun and enjoyable. How I wish we have more time to spend on this trip.
Overall experience was amazing.

Our driver David was so nice to us and gave us enough time to see everything! The trip was beautiful, nice to leave Yerevan for a day. In Summer when everything is green, the nature is surely even more beautiful.
