    Jinshanling Great Wall, 130 km(80 miles) northeast of central Beijing, is one of the best-preserved and most photogenic parts of the Great Wall with many original features. It got its name because it was built on the Greater and Lesser Jinshan(Gold Mountain) Ranges, known as the "paradise of photographer". The most special features of this section are the 67 watchtowers. According to the different terrain, the watchtowers were built in different shapes: tall or short, rectangular or square, with three to five embrasures. Most watchtowers are on one or two floors. The Great Wall at Jinshanling was built 650 years ago in the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644). Poems and tablet writings can be found on the Great Wall there, left from the time when Qi Jiguang directed its rebuilding. A rare three-floor watchtower can be found at the west end of the Jinshanling section(which unfortunately is currently a military restricted area).

Excellent guide, highly recommend! Susan did a great job taking me on a private day tour of Beijing and the Great Wall. She was knowledgeable, with excellent English, and was fun to be around. She also took excellent pictures. Since I had been to Beijing before, she made some suggestions about new things to see, and we ended up going to a waterside section of the Great Wall I hadn't been to, which was an absolute highlight. Will definitely recommend Susan to friends and colleagues traveling to Beijing!

Susan is great! She is organized and knowledgeable and is super sweet too! We had some difficulties during our time in Beijing (completely unrelated to her work) and she was flexible and went well above and beyond to help us!! Her driver was the very best too!! We highly recommend Susan to organize your time in Beijing and help you understand life in modern China!
